How The Highlands at Blind Bay collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you visit liveatblindbay.com or register interest in a lot.
Last updated: September 2, 2026
The Highlands at Blind Bay is a lot-sale and new-home development by Blind Bay Developments Ltd. on the south shore of the Shuswap Lake. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's privacy legislation.
By using this website or submitting a form, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not submit your details through the site.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you register interest, ask about a lot, use our contact form, or subscribe to updates, we collect the details you provide — typically your first and last name, email address, phone number, any message you write, and the lot number you're asking about. Registration and inquiry forms require a phone number so our licensed agent can follow up; the updates signup asks only for your first name and email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically receive certain technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site you came from, and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you followed. We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement (see “Cookies and tracking” below).
Why we use it
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and have our licensed real estate agent contact you about the lot or development.
- To send you the updates you asked for — new lot releases, pricing and build news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate, secure and improve the website, including protecting our forms from spam and abuse.
- To measure and improve our marketing — understanding which pages and ads lead to genuine inquiries, and showing relevant ads to people likely to be interested.
Who we share it with
Service providers and advertising partners
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we rely on to run the development and its marketing, and only for the purposes above:
- Follow Up Boss (our customer-relationship system) stores your contact details and inquiry so our agent can follow up.
- Google — we use Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure site traffic and ad performance. This data is aggregated and does not include your name, email or phone number.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook / Instagram) — we use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure our advertising and reach people likely to be interested. When we send Meta a record that an inquiry occurred, any identifiers such as your email, phone or name are irreversibly hashed (encrypted) before they leave our server — Meta receives the scrambled values for matching only, never your details in readable form.
- Cloudflare provides our content-delivery network and the Turnstile check that keeps bots off our forms.
- Hostinger hosts the website.
Some of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies (including the Google and Meta tags described above) to remember your session, measure site usage, and measure and optimize our advertising. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of ad personalization directly with Meta and Google. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Your choices
Your rights and retention
Under PIPEDA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it at any time (subject to legal record-keeping obligations of the real estate brokerage). To unsubscribe from updates, use the link in any email or contact us.
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law and real estate industry regulations, then delete or de-identify it.
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
